Changes Coming to Provincial Coat of Arms


There may a new provincial coat of arms for for the province.

The Liberal Government said over the weekend at their Annual General Meeting that the province should change the coat of arms to make some changes to better reflect modern day and the province.

Presently there are the royal beasts that support the arms of the Monarch, the lion represents England and the unicorn stands for Scotland. The two Beothuk supporters refer to the indigenous population of Newfoundland.

The things that need to be changed are the two Beothuk and the Elk.
