Air Transat Passengers Left on Tarmac for 6 Hours

336 passengers were kept on an Air Transat on the tarmac for six hours with no food and limited air conditioning.

At the time the outside temperature hovered around 30 degrees.

Passengers said that they were provided little information as to why they were on the tarmac in Rome. The flight was destined for Toronto.

Air Transat said it grounded the plane because of a mechanical problem and later had to cancel the flight because the crew had hit their limit on working hours.

Eventually, passengers were removed from the plane and taken to a hotel for the night.

The plane took off the following afternoon.

Air Transat apologized to passengers.
