Here is the Number of People Shot in the United States by Gun Violence in 2019
After two more mass-shootings in the United States over the weekend, the number of mass shootings so far this year is now at 254.
While there is no universally accepted definition of a mass shooting, Congressional Research Service defines it as 4+ shot and killed in one incident, excluding the perpetrator(s), at a public place, excluding gang-related killings and those done with a profit-motive.
Those 254 events, 1,094 have been shot and 284 have died.
The United States has had more mass shootings than any other country.
In Dayton, Ohio a gunman killed nine people and injured twenty-seven outside of a bar after he was denied entry, before being killed by police.
In El Paso, Texas twenty-one people were killed and twenty-five were injured at a Walmart near the Cielo Vista Mall. The perpetrator was taken into custody.
