McKenna Now Requires Security due to Threats

The Federal Environment Minister Catherine McKenna has been assigned security after a slew of abuse both online and in person.

At one point she was confronted while walking her children outside a movie theatre.

A vehicle drove by and said "f*ck you, Climate Barbie," and then drove away.

Cabinet minsters usually don't get a security detail, however, the threats have become real enough that McKenna sometimes now requires security.

McKenna would not elaborate on the security needs.

McKenna was appointed Minister of Environment and Climate Change in Justin Trudeau's first cabinet on November 4, 2015.
