Justin Trudeau is presently serving as the 23rd Prime Minister of Canada.

Throughout our history as a nation, most Prime Ministers have received at least a second term from Canadians. There are a few exceptions where Prime Ministers were only given one government.

There have been nine instances in the past where a Prime Minister could not secure a second term in office.

However, not all nine were defeated.

On those nine, only six were defeated after one term, others quit or died.

It seems like Canadians do not have a problem giving governments at least a second mandate.
