NATO Meeting Kicks Off

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is at the NATO summit in London.

Canada has been facing criticism for not contributing enough to out military spending. It is recommended that countries spend at least 2 percent of their GDP.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization, also called the North Atlantic Alliance, is an intergovernmental military alliance between 29 North American and European countries.

The organization implements the North Atlantic Treaty that was signed on 4 April 1949.

This year NATO turns 70 years old.
