Anthony Rota Elected as Speaker of the House of Commons #CDNpoli

MP's have elected a new Speaker of the House of Commons.

Liberal Anthony Rota has been elected.

He is the 37th Speaker of the House of Commons of the 43rd Parliament.

Two Liberals, tow Conservatives, and one NDP MP put their names forward.

Incumbent Liberal Geoff Regan was defeated.

He is the MP for Nipissing—Timiskaming.
