MUN Announces First Female President

Dr. Vianne Timmons has been appointed as the 13th president and vice-chancellor of Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Dr. Timmons, will also be Memorial’s first female president.

The announcement was made by Iris Petten, Chair of the Board of Regents and chair of the university’s Presidential Search Committee.

The appointment was recommended by the Presidential Search Committee and its members, which included representatives of the university’s board, faculty, students, administration, and the community at large.

The appointment was approved by the university’s Board of Regents.
