Peter MacKay Launchs Bid to Lead Conservative Party #CDNpoli
Former Conservative cabinet minister Peter MacKay has launched his bid to lead the Conservative Party.
MacKay was in Nova Scotia, his home province, to make the announcement.
One of the things he focused on in his speech was the deep divisions that have plagued the party. MacKay announced his intention to run back on January 15.
MacKay was a Member of Parliament from 1997 to 2015 and has served as Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Minister of National Defence, and Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Cabinet of Canada under Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
