A total of 54 possible unmarked graves have been discovered in Keeseekoose First Nation in Saskatchewan on the grounds of two former residential schools.


Ground-penetrating radar was utilized to search the grounds.


There were two schools in the area, St. Philip’s and Fort Pelly. Both were operated by the Catholic Church.


There were at least 139 residential schools across Canada.


Keeseekoose First Nation is located about 250 km northeast of Regina, Saskatchewan.
