66 year old male sustains serious injuries following assault at Waterford Hospital, Thursday evening
St. John’s, NL) December 20, 2024 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) made an arrest after a man was assaulted with a weapon in St. John’s.
Shortly after 6 p.m. on Thursday (Dec. 19), Officers received a report of a serious assault at the Waterford Hospital. A 66-year-old male had been transported to a hospital emergency department with life-threatening injuries.
Responding officers determined that a patient of the Waterford Hospital had assaulted another patient with a weapon, causing serious injury.
A 30-year-old male was taken into custody at the Waterford Hospital in connection with the event. He has been held in custody to appear in Provincial Court on charges of attempted murder and assault with a weapon.
