The alert has since been lifted.
Update effective 9:25 p.m. - Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP are still actively investigating what is believed to be a targeted incident of shots fired. An increased police presence remains in the area. Residents are no longer required to shelter in place and asked to call police with reports of suspicious activities.
The RCMP is advising of an active shooter in Grand Falls-Windsor. There is no current description of the suspect(s).
This is between Lincoln Road and Scott Avenue, Goodyear Avenue and Riverview Road.
Stay inside and do not open doors. Residents are asked to shelter in place.
The man was last seen on Suvla Road.
Shots were fired with no injuries.
