Bird flu case confirmed in Colorado man
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed a case of bird flu in a human in Colorado.
The man was involved in the direct contact with poultry and the culling of the birds. He has since recovered.
Since last year there have been several reports of the H5N1 virus circulating among birds.
H5N1 was detected in two flocks on the Avalon Peninsula back in December and January. The flu has been detected across several other areas in Canada too.
