Canada takes gold at IIHF Women’s World Championship

Team Canada has taken gold at the 2022 IIHF Women’s World Championship in Denmark.

Canada beat the United States by a score of 2 to 1. Both teams did not score in the first period, Canada scored the first and second goals in the second, and the United States scored with 21 seconds remaining in the second period.

This was the 20th time in 21 women’s world championships that Canada and the United States battled it out.

Canada has now won 12 women’s world gold medals and was the defending gold medalists.
