Canadians urged to leave Lebanon
Global Affairs Canada is urging Canadians to avoid all travel to Lebanon due to the deteriorating security situation, civil unrest, the increased risk of terrorist attacks and the ongoing armed conflict with Israel.
Those in the country are encouraged to book a flight to leave the country, expect a heightened security presence, carry identification documents at all times, avoid the area along the border with Israel, make sure your passport and travel documents are up-to-date, including those of your family, and register and update contact information through the Registration of Canadians Abroad service and encourage other Canadian citizens in Lebanon to do so.
To date, over 1,500 Canadians have left Israel on assisted departure flights.
