Charles makes first address as King

King Charles made his first address as King this afternoon.

In his statement, King Charles spoke of the sadness that many feel and said that "I share that sense of loss beyond measure."

Camilla now assumes the role of Queen consort. Prince William and Princess Catherine are now the Prince and Princess of Wales.

King Charles also briefly spoke of his love for Harry and Meghan.

Similar to Queen Elizabeth II, Charles said he will, "uphold the constitutional principles at the heart of our nation."

To everyone in the United Kingdom and in all the realms and Commonwealth, the King promised to serve everyone with loyalty, respect, and love regardless of their background or beliefs.
