Cheatle resigns as Director of the Secret Service

Kimberly Cheatle has resigned as Director of the United States Secret Service—a post she held since September 2022.

Cheatle was in charge of the agency during the attempted assassination of Donald Trump on July 13.

She faced widespread criticism and several calls to resign.

She previously held multiple roles in the Secret Service over 27 years.
