Corner Brook has been selected to host the 2026 Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games.

Minister of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation Steve Crocker made the announcement this afternoon.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Games welcomes close to 1,600 athletes, coaches and staff and involves approximately 500 active and dedicated volunteers.

Athletes between the ages of 11 and 18 years old compete in a variety of summer sports including track and field, swimming, soccer and more.

Crocker said, “I am delighted to announce the City of Corner Brook as the location of the 2026 Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games. The Games are a fantastic event for young athletes and are about so much more than sport – the camaraderie and friendships made have the potential to last a lifetime. I wish the organizing committee the best as their planning ramps up for 2026 and I look forward to cheering on our province’s young athletes.”
