Donald Trump prepares for Inauguration Day as Biden issues preemptive pardons
Today is Inauguration Day in America as Donald Trump prepares to take the oath of office and become the 47th President of the United States of America.
Due to the frigid weather gripping Washington D.C., the swearing in will take place inside.
Once he is sworn in, Trump is expected to sign a number of executive orders on immigration, energy, and transgender athletes and he is also expected to pardon the January 6 rioters.
Trump won the election in November with 312 electoral votes to incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris's 226. He also won the popular vote with 49.8% to Harris's 48.3% with the smallest popular vote margin since 2000.
Before President Joe Biden leaves office he signed a number of preemptive pardons to those deemed targets of Trump. Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and members of Congress and staff who served on the January 6th committee..
