Final curtain closes on Come From Away

The Hit Musical Come From Away has come to an end.

The Broadway play was based on the events that transpired in Gander in September of 2001 when United States airspace was closed forcing 38 planes, carrying approximately 7,000 passengers, was ordered to land at the Gander International Airport.

In many cases, the characters and their names were based on actual Gander residents and stranded travellers.

The play has won a total of 19 awards.
