Government unveils ambitious immigration plan

Federal Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Sean Fraser announced that Canada will increase the number of newcomers to the country.

Under the plan, the federal government plans to attract those with skills in health care, skilled trades, manufacturing and technology.

In 2021 Canada welcomed over 405,000 newcomers.

The Government is setting targets in the new levels plan of 465,000 permanent residents in 2023, 485,000 in 2024 and 500,000 in 2025.
