Israel officially declares war on Hamas

Fighting continues in Israel after Hamas militants stormed into the country from Gaza and launched a surprise attack on the country.

Officials believe that Hamas has dozens of captives including children and soldiers.

So far the death toll in Israel is more than 600. Over 400 Palestinians have been killed.

Israel has been striking back launching airstrikes into Gaza. Israel officially declared war on Sunday.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has predicted a "long and difficult war." World leaders have been expressing their support for Israel.
