The Marble Mountain radar will go offline in June of this year to be replaced.

Environment and Climate Change Canada is replacing radars to upgrade them to have dual-polarization technology. This technology can better distinguish between rain, snow, hail, and freezing rain as well as better discern the size, shape, and variety of precipitation particles.

It will also remove non-meteorological targets such as birds, bugs, and debris from the data.

The replacement is expected to be completed in September of 2022.

There are two radar sites in Newfoundland. The other site is in Holyrood. That radar was upgraded in 2020.
