National unemployment rate falls in January

Canada gained 76,000 more jobs in January, bringing the unemployment rate down again.


The unemployment rate declined 0.1 percentage points to 6.6 percent nationally.


There were employment increases in Ontario, British Columbia, and New Brunswick.


Newfoundland and Labrador has the highest unemployment rate at 10.6 percent.
