New film and media production centre launched at CNA

The provincial government has announced the launch of a new film and media production centre.

The new facility will be based at the College of the North Atlantic in St. John’s and will include $2.6 million for operating costs and one-time investments for equipment and renovations.

There is also a new "all spend film and video production" tax credit and $10 million for the Film and Television Equity Investment Program.

Students of this new program will have the oppourtunity to transfer credits to the Toronto Film School, the Canadian Film Centre and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.

The facility will be located on Strawberry Marsh Road in St. John’s in an existing building with classes expected to start in September.
