One person sent to hospital after being struck by SUV in St John's on Thursday evening

One person has been sent to hospital after a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian in St. John’s on Thursday evening.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of O'leary Avenue and Peet Street near the Avalon Mall, just after 6:10 p.m, following reports indicating a vehicle had struck a pedestrian at the intersection.
Emergency personnel arrived on the scene just moments later, to found a individual laying in the middle of the intersection, infront of a small SUV. NL Health Services paramedics quickly began to on-board the individual onto a stretcher and load them into a ambulance. Thier injuries are unknown at this time. The two opponents of the SUV were reportedly to be unharmed in the incident.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) collision reconstructionalist were on the scene for for approximately two and half hours to investigate the incident, The road was reopened at around 8:45 p.m.
