Pedestrian Mall Update

The planning process for the 2021 Pedestrian Mall is underway.

The City of St. John's is seeking feedback from downtown business owners as staff work through the details of the proposal. Feedback will be accepted until March 12. You can email specialevents@stjohns.ca.

Last year, the Pedestrian Mall Pilot Project was met with the overall success and public support. During the fall of 2020, the city conducted a public engagement process that included feedback from business owners, residents, property owners and members of the City’s Inclusion Advisory Committee.

The City’s Special Events staff used this feedback to prepare the proposed plan for 2021. The details of the plan were shared with business owners on Feb. 25.

During the week of March 22, City Council will review the proposed plan for 2021 and a decision will be made on the next steps.
