Prince Harry and Meghan announce the birth of a baby girl

Prince Harry and Meghan have announced the birth of a baby girl.

Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on Friday morning in Santa Barbara, California.

A statement said that both mother and child are healthy and well. She was born at 11:40 am local time and weighed 7 lbs 11 oz.

This is the couple's second child.

A statement from Buckingham Palace said, "The Queen, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been informed and are delighted with the news."

The child is named after the Queen's nickname and her middle name is after her late grandmother.
