Provincial Government Supports the Removal of Tax on New Rental Housing Builds

The provincial is supportive of a move by the federal government to remove federal and provincial taxes on new rental housing builds across the country.

The move is billed as a step to help alleviate the current housing crisis.

Provincial Minister of Finance Siobhan Coady has written to the Deputy Prime Minister and federal Minister of Finance Chrystia Freeland and Sean Fraser, Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities to encourage the removal of the Harmonized Sales Tax, which includes federal and provincial taxes.
