Quick thinking people saves home in the East-End of St. John’s on Saturday evening

Just before 7:10 p.m on Saturday April 19 firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department were called to a home on Kenna’s Hill in the East-End of St. John's.
Before crews could arrive on scene a person who had a fire extinguishers sprung into action and knocked down the blaze which was contained to the front porch of the house
A person who lived close by said he heard a loud bang and then seen a house meter on fire, it is not confirmed that this was the cause of the fire.
Crews stayed on scene and made sure there were no hot spots that would cause the fire to reignite there were no injuries reported.
