Resolution on Memorandum of Understanding on Churchill Falls Passes

The special sitting of the House of Assembly last week ended with all members who were present voting in support of the resolution to move forward with negotiations in relation to the Memorandum of Understanding between Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro and Hydro-Québec.
The Progressive Conservative party left the House before the vote took place.
A new independent, expert panel led by the Consumer Advocate will be created to add an additional level of oversight to the negotiations.
Guests in the House included key individuals on the MOU negotiating team and independent expert advisors Power Advisory and JP Morgan.
