Royal St. John’s Regatta Appoints Honouray Life President

The Royal St. John’s Regatta Committee has added a member as an honourary life president.

Bernard “Tanny” Collins received the most prestigious honours to be bestowed upon a member. Collins is only the 4th person named to this position.

Collins has a long history with the Royal St. John’s Regatta. His involvement goes back to the late 1960s when he started rowing. His family has had a long connection to the Regatta. His grandfather and his father were also involved in the annual event.

From 1987 to 1988 Collins served as Regatta Committee President.

This appointment comes after the passing of John Perlin in 2022.
