Royal St. John's Regatta is A Go
The 206th Royal St. John’s Regatta is a Go today, everyone who played Regatta Roulette are safe.
Today is a holiday and as a result, all City offices and facilities are closed. Garbage and recycling collection will occur as normal. Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility is open for commercial and residential users.
All City parking by-laws are still in effect, however paid parking regulations will not be enforced.
Public washrooms will be open at Bannerman Park, Bowring Park, Kenmount Park, Quidi Vidi Lake and Kenny’s Pond. The outdoor pool at Bannerman Park will be closed all day, however Bowring Park pool will open at 2:45 p.m. for public swimming following the Kids of Steel Triathlon. Splash pads at Bowring Park, Bannerman Park and Kenmount Park will be open on Regatta Day.
Road Closures are in effect beginning at 7:00 a.m. to 30 minutes after the last race or until the level of pedestrian activity allows safe vehicular access. Impacted roads are:

Empire Avenue (Rennies Mill Road to Forest Road)

Kenna’s Hill
King’s Bridge Road
Lake Avenue

Pleasantville Avenue (Taylor Place to The Boulevard)
The Boulevard
Access to the Legion will be permitted via East White Hills Road only

New Cove Road (Bristol Street to King’s Bridge Road)
No Parking is permitted from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on:

Bristol Street - west side
Carnell Drive - both sides
Circular Road - north side Rennies Mill Road to Empire Avenue
Circular Road – south side Monkstown Road to Rennies Mill Road
Clancey Drive - both sides
East Drive – north/east side
Glenridge Crescent – inside curve
Judge Place – west side
Lake Avenue – both sides
Lakeview Avenue – both sides
Legion Road – both sides
Selfridge Road - both sides
The Boulevard - both sides
Tunis Court - inside curve
Winter Avenue - north side
Vehicles parked on any street designated as “No Parking – Tow Away” or anywhere that they are obstructing traffic (including pedestrian traffic) will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
Metrobus runs several shuttle routes to Quidi Vidi Lake on Regatta Day.
