Russian Aircraft Nears British Airspace

On Saturday the Royal Air Force scrambled six fighter jets to intercept Russian aircraft that were nearing British airspace.

The aircraft was detected off the northwestern coast of Scotland.

Six Typhoon aircraft were dispatched from the Quick Reaction Alert programme.

The Ministry of Defence said that two aircraft forced the planes to change course away from British airspace.
