Saildrones to research Gulf Stream over the winter

Saildrones are about to embark on a six-month trip to research the planet's most hostile ocean conditions.

Six of the unmanned crafts will collect data within the Gulf Stream through the next few months. The hope is that the data will improve weather forecasting capabilities and research climate change.

Previously the Saildrones sailed into Hurricane Sam.
