Snow, rain, and wind expected on Thursday

An area of low pressure will approach Newfoundland from the west on Wednesday night and Thursday.
It is expected to rapidly intensify off the south coast of Newfoundland and will bring rain, snow, and strong winds to the Island beginning on Wednesday night and continuing through Thursday and into Friday.
At this time there is a considerable model discrepancy. Some models indicate a significant snow event and some are showing mostly rain.
On Thursday night winds will intensify. The strongest winds are expected over the Avalon Peninsula where gusts between 80 and 100 km/h are possible. In Central and the along the south coast, gusts could reach 70 km/h. For the west coast gusts between 60 and 80 km/h are expected.
Keep checking back for updates.
