St. John's tables 2023 budget
The City of St. John’s released the Budget 2023 on Monday.
There will be no increase in property taxes but there will be an increase of $45.00 in the water tax while commercial water usage rates will rise 7.1 percent.
The Budget is balanced at $333,282,356, an increase of 4.3% over 2022. There is a projected deficit, to address this, the City will use $6.1M in savings from previous years.
Other investments include enhanced snow clearing at pedestrian street crossings.
Support for the Metrobus ZIP network. Two extra buses will be added to Route 2 and one bus will be added to Route 10.
$445,000 in preparation for the 2025 Canada Games.
The Council also approved fee increases in recreation programs and services.
