Stanley Cup Parade to take place on Monday

The Stanley Cup Parade and Celebration for Alex Newhook will take place on Monday.


The parade will take place from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.


As a result of the parade, there will be a few road closures. From 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm southbound traffic will not be permitted between Circular Road and Military Road.


There will be rolling closures on Military Road, Ordnance Street, Duckworth Street, Prescott Street, and Water Street. The roads will be reopened after the parade passes. There will be anticipated traffic delays along this route between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm.


Adelaide Street at Water Street will be having rolling closure as the parade passes. The roadway will be reopened after the parade passes. There will be anticipated traffic delays along this route between 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.


The parade will travel through the Downtown Pedestrian Mall (east to west) until it reaches George Street, where Alex will take the stage with the Stanley Cup. Alex will be joined by Mayor Danny Breen, and the Honourable Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador.


The City has partnered with the Community Food Sharing Association to collect food items. Please bring non-perishable food items to the parade to place in a van that will travel along the route.


Metrobus will operate on a load-and-go schedule between 12:30 and 2:00 pm from The Village Shopping Centre parking lot and will drop off in front of the St. John’s Convention Centre.
