Theives steal famed Amelia Earhart statue in Harbour Grace

First, it was the plaques; now, the thieves have stolen the Amelia Earhart statue in the Town of Harbour Grace.

On April 24, 2025, between 12 a.m. and 2:47 a.m., the Town's Amelia Earhart statue was stolen by (at least) three individuals.

Roger Pike donated this statue to the municipality in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of Earhart's transatlantic flight.

A red SUV picked up two individuals at the site at roughly 2:45 a.m.

The Town is offering a reward for information which leads to its return.
