Trump announces 2024 presidential run

As expected former US president Donald Trump announced he will run for president in 2024.

Trump was president from 2017 to 2021 and lost to Joe Biden.

After losing the election to Biden, Trump began a campaign to prove the election was stolen. There was no basis for his claims and some of his actions may have amounted to illegal activity.

On January 6, 2021, while congressional certification of the presidential election results was taking place in the United States Capitol, Trump held a rally in Washington, D.C., where he called for the election result to be overturned and urged his supporters to "take back our country" by marching to the Capitol to "show strength" and "fight like hell".
