Two NL filmmakers make debut at TIFF

Two filmmakers from this province have films debut at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Christian Sparkes, director, and Allison White, producer, have both seen incredible success on the national and international film scenes over the span of their careers.

Their film, ‘The King Tide’, tells the story of a young girl with special gifts who is adopted in an isolated East Coast island town and the ensuing effect on the family and the community.

Filming took place from August to October 2022 in the Keels in Bonavista Bay.

Approximately 100 people from this province were employed during the film’s production.

The film will be available in theatres later in the year.

The 48th annual Toronto International Film Festival started on September 7 and will conclude on September 17.
