Vehicle-pedestrian collision in St. John's Saturday evening results in no injuries and leads to the arrest of one male

Emergency crews responded to the collision, shortly before 5:20 p.m. at the intersection of Empire Avenue and Monchy Street in the centre-city of St John's.


Responding officers with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC), stated Information was received, that a female had been struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross at a crosswalk before the vehicle left the area.


When first responders arrived on the scene, Personnel determined that no injuries were sustained to the victim, and that the vehicle involved had driven to the police station due to being physically confronted by a witness at the scene.


As a result of the police investigation, the 75 year old male ooperator of the vehicle that had collided with the female, was issued a summary offence ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian, while a

33 year old male was arrested and charged with Uttering Threats and Mischief.


He was released to appear in court at a later time.
